Whip's Birthday

It's been a while so there is lots of stuff to catch up on. Monday the 20th we carved pumpkins at Joe and Lila's. We did a pretty good job, but it got cold so they shriveled up, I guess they are just creepy shriveled pumpkins now. Cody and Joe got into a pumpkin goo fight so we were picking pumpkin seeds out of Cody's clothes 'till we got home.
We had Whip's 5th birthday party last Saturday and according to the parents I talked to, it was a hit. He wanted a monster party so we just decorated for Halloween and did scary monster games like, Monster Twister, Make a Mummy and The Mad Scientist's Lab. We blindfolded the kids one at a time and had them feel all the supplies in the scientist's lab like guts (spaghetti) brains (cooked oatmeal) and dried grasshoppers (pine needles and almonds). Some of the kids didn't want to do it and some would only do it without the blind fold. It was cute. Lila came and took pictures so all the picture credit goes to her. It was nice to not have to worry about getting pictures and keeping track of six 5 year old boys. Whip some Legos and some Batman toys so he was pretty happy.
Lillie had her Father/Daughter Party for Girl Scouts so she got to wear her costume and Cody dressed up too. They had a little dance and played some games and they won the prize for most original pumpkin (they had to make a new one that wasn't all shrively).
Cannon has started doing the army crawl and now nothing in the house is safe. He looks so cute creeping around the house with his two little snaggle teeth. Speaking of teeth, we took Lillie and Whip to the dentist this week and Whip had three cavities. Lillie had one tiny one, but it is on a front tooth so I am hoping it falls out before her filling appt. It is really irritating to have to get them filled when the teeth are just going to fall out anyway, but I don't want them to have toothaches, so thank goodness for dental insurance.
Tomorrow is Halloween and according to Lillie, it is going to be the "bestest day ever!" Whip has his preschool party in the morning, then Lillie has her costume parade at 2:00, then we are trunk or treating with the other Strassers at 6:00 and then more trick or treating. Sounds like another trip to the dentist in the making. That's ok, Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I haven't decided if I am dressing up or not, I only have one costume so we will see. Here are some pics of recent events-enjoy!!
